1981年4月、西海岸でのコンサートツアーから5曲（LPは4曲）をピックアップし、1枚のアルバムにまとめたもの。それぞれの演奏のポテンシャルは高いのだが、3か所のライブから寄せ集めているので全体の統一感は欠ける。しかも、1曲目と2曲目は、演奏の日付が特定できていないという録音スタッフの手抜き。タイトルがLive...となっているのは、「ライブ（なんだけど、録音データが…）」という意味なのだろうか。
中古輸入盤CDには次のようなジョン・コルトレーンのメッセージが載っている。これも、いつどこでのコルトレーンの発言なのかは分からない。アルバムとしては極めて不出来だが、演奏は上出来。
