ベストアルバムなのだが、大事なことがある。全21曲が、それまでにリリースされたアルバムからの抜粋ではなく、その中の6曲が未発表曲なのだ。Best HitsとはせずにGreatest Hitsとした理由がそこにあるような気がする（まぁ、前作のベストアルバムGreatest Hitsにも未発表曲Positively 4th Streetを挿入したので、その流れなのだが）。そして、未発表曲はディラン自身が選んだらしい。
アルバムの挿入順にWatching The River Flow, Tomorrow Is A Long Time, When I Paint My Masterpiece, I Shall Be Released, You Ain't Goin' Nowhere, Crash On The Levee (Down In The Flood)である。つまり、Disc 1の1曲目、Disc 2のラスト5曲に配置している。最後の2曲は、1975年リリースのアルバムBasement Tapesに初期の音源が収録されることなった。つまり、本作がリリースされた1971年11月時点で、ディラン・ファンは6曲のために購入を余儀なくされた2枚組LPだった。ジャケットが素晴らしい。1971年8月1日のバングラデッシュコンサートのステージ裏から撮影されたものである。
