2000年12月にディランの5度目の来日が発表され、それに合わせて日本のみでリリースされたアルバム。全16曲中、6曲が未発表、5曲がアルバム未収録。内容はタイトル通りで、1961年から2000年までの39年間に渡るライブ演奏を集めたもの。未収録はSomebody Touched Me, Wade In The Water, Handsome Molly, Grand Coulee Dam, Things Have Changedの5曲。
ライナーノーツはしっかりしていて、詳しいデータ、歌詞と訳詞が載っている。ただし、字が小さくてルーペが必要。ディランの変遷を一気に聴くことができるので、それなりに価値のあるアルバム。
