輸入盤CDには、カーメン・マクレエ自身によるライナーノーツが記載されていて、以下のように始まる。そして、「ジョー・パスは、間違いなく最も偉大なギタリストだ」と続けている。そんな文章を読むと、このアルバムは、マクレエの歌だけを聴くのではなく、バックのミュージシャンとのやりとりに耳を傾けるアルバムなのだろう。しかし、ライブアルバムのタイトルにThe Great American Songbookはちょっと大げさな感じだ。
