Way Out Wesというアルバムは、かつては存在していなかった。2つのアルバムMontgomerylandとThe Montgomery Brothers and Five Othersをカップリングし、新たなタイトルを付与したのだ。録音は、前者が1958年と59年、後者が57年と58年である。どちらもモンゴメリー3兄弟が参加。ちなみに、3人の生年月日は、Monk Montgomeryが1921年10月10日、Wesが23年3月6日、Buddyが30年1月30日である。3兄弟名義のアルバムをカップリングして、ウェス名義に変えてしまったことになる。
2014年8月に送料込み695円で買ったアルバム。久しぶりに聴いたが、かなり悪い音。ウェスは天国で嘆いているのではないだろうか。「オレのギターワークを安売りしたり、音を歪ませるなよ」と。
