LPアルバムOn Dial Vol.1からVol.6までの全85曲から、別テイクを省き全56曲の2枚組CDにまとめたもの。On Dialの6枚と、それらを1枚のLPにまとめたアルバムBird Symbolsを所有していたが、それらから焼き直したCDでは物足りなく、このコンプリート盤を買い直した。
パーカーのアルバムは20代の頃に買い漁った。パーカーを聴きたいと言うことより、パーカーを聴いていないとジャズを語れないと思ったから。しかし、その良さが分かるようになったのは40代を過ぎてから。新たに聴きたいプレイヤーが見つからず、ふとパーカーのLPを回したら、その良さに気付いた。それ以来、パーカーのアルバムを手元に置いていないと、何となく不安になる。
